NELLA HAJDU: BIO
Nella Hajdu was born and still lives in eastern Slovakia. Although she did not stand out for her artistic talent as a child, she was fascinated from an early age by nature—its light, vivid colors, and the atmosphere of sunny days when gardens burst into bloom.
At the age of twelve, she discovered an ability to draw without any formal training. It was then that her dream of becoming an artist was born. She aspired to study fine arts, but after failing to gain admission to an art university, she began to doubt herself and her future.
The following years were spent searching for her own path. She lived in London for more than two years, where she worked and studied English. After returning to Slovakia, she earned a degree in management and pursued various careers, yet she still felt that she had not found her true calling.
After more than fifteen years without drawing or painting, she decided to give her childhood dream a second chance. A turning point came through her collaboration with Beautiful Art Gallery, which gave her new motivation and the confidence to believe that she could, after all, become an artist.
Since 2022, she has been dedicated to studying drawing, portraiture, and painting. During this period, she created her first collections, including a series inspired by the Greek islands, which she later presented at her first exhibitions in Prešov and Levoča.
She began following workshops by Milan Art Institute in 2023 and enrolled in the Mastery program in 2025, an experience that significantly shaped her artistic development. Today, her work combines a fascination with light, color, and nature with her personal journey of searching for her own path.
ARTIST STATEMENT
In my work, I explore the connection between women and nature. I am inspired by light, color, and the atmosphere of landscapes, which evoke a sense of peace, freedom, and contemplation.
Through oil and acrylic paintings, I capture moments of stillness and inner experience. Female figures intertwine with flowers and natural elements, symbolizing growth, transformation, and blossoming.
I create poetic worlds where memories, emotions, and the beauty of everyday moments come together. My intention is to leave space for viewers to discover their own stories and personal connections within each painting.
